'The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna' translated by Swami Nikhilananda is an English version of a Bengali Spiritual Classic, 'Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita' written by Mahendranath Gupta, a devotee of Sri Ramakrishna himself under the pseudonym of 'M'.

This book mainly records the conversations of Sri Ramakrishna with disciples, devotees and visitors noted down by M while in association with the master. It covers the period from March 1882 to 24 April 1886, just a few months before his passing away.

Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa (1836 to 1886) by now has occupied a unique place in the hearts of millions of devotees who see in him a veritable divine incarnation. His life and words have kindled spiritual light in the heart of countless seekers of truth and have inspired them for an onward spiritual journey.
