Today is GTA 6 was confirmed to be Rockstar Games NEXT major release. So this shuts down any rumors of the next game being Bully 2 or that medieval game that Rockstar was rumored to be working on. Also noted is that GTA 6 is still in "early development." This is a very broad term that can mean many things. I think one of the major takeways from this though that GTA fans are over looking is that this does NOT mean that a GTA 6 announcement won't happen in 2020. I still believe that by the end of 2020 there will be an official GTA 6 trailer/GTA 6 announcement. But as far as the official GTA 6 release date, that is still 1.5-2.5 years away.
