Thoughts on the balance patch. Scourges do a lot less corrupts now, our burns tick less, axe 2 doesn't feel as strong at finishing opponents, and our shades don't feel overwhelming. But the nerfs to damage is across the board so it's all relative. Scourges still have one of the highest 15 second corrupt bomb spikes when all your cooldowns are up. Corrupts are still very valuable, and barriers help you and your squad not get one banged.
You won't outdps a bomb kit Scrapper or Weaver, and you can't keep up with burnguards in long fights. But Scourges put up good spike damage which generate downs, while corrupting useful boons into condi's allowing your squad to do more damage and cc's. You should always be mindful of how much corrupts you are doing as a Scourge, it's one of your greatest assets in a squad.
Yes this is still a power meta, power is so much better than condi in comp'ed guild squads. Having a burnguard helps for cleaving downs and to generate condi pressure. But overall organized guild squads running power will outperform squads running heavy condi.

Full Power Berserker Staff variant:
Double offhand weapons Grieving/Berserker:
In the first few clips, I used the full power berserker build with big shades (Sand Savant). Compared to the old build, using Awakening Pain now instead of Chill of Death for additional power to help boost overall damage slightly. As long as you have support, you can safely go full berserker because the balance patch made it so everybody's doing less damage. I included a Staff variant which isn't shown in the vid, but some people prefer staff. Staff will give you a bit more spike damage but you lose out on a lot of valuable corrupts. Full power zerker is good if you know the fights are always going to be short.
Rest of the vid I used my Grieving/Berserker double offhand weapons build, something I used pre-patch. This is my go to bread & butter build, tweaked slightly from pre-patch. People often ask me why mixing Grieving/Berserker, why use small shades, etc.. as they can't find this build on metabattle. The idea behind this build is that I prefer raw Power, this is still a power meta for organized guild squads. This build will bomb nearly as hard as full berserker, but sacrificing a bit of berserker for grieving doubles your condi output for long sustained fights.
Using Demonic Lore, you get free burn whenever you inflict torment, and your torment also do more damage. Grieving gear takes advantage of the torment/burn you spit out rather readily. Small shades are much better than big shades because big shades are locked at 5 targets only. Using big shades I always feel I'm held back. Small shades allow you to hit 5 targets per shade, and you can have up to 3 shades up at once. This means you can hit up to 15 targets with small shades, which should result in more damage, more corrupts, and more fear. I think I demonstrated its usage pretty well in the vid.

My videos are meant for entertainment purposes, I publish them for fun. I like to try out builds and record results to see the potentials of these builds. Build links will always be included because I know it's useful especially if you're new to GW2/WvW. These videos are raw with mistakes and bloopers, they are not edited to perfection.
As always, thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed it!
