It's fascinating how many people think they're influential when they really aren't. For example, a narcissist. People will rally around them and then scurry around doing things. The narcissist assumes they are a person of influence—but they're not. All that's happening is that people are complying with them. The reason they comply is because there's something that they want that the narcissist is withholding unless they do this.
