Some users are reporting an issue with their OnePlus 8 Pro screens, where their displays either show a slight green tint or black crush issues at low brightness.
A user on the OnePlus Community forums demonstrated the issue on their device, and the primary problem showed up as a green tint to the dark colors on the screen. The user posted a side-by-side comparison with a Galaxy Note 10 Plus, and the difference between the two is quite apparent. It is important to note that the green issue only appeared when the refresh rate is set at 120Hz and the brightness is dropped to a very low setting.
The issue can potentially be rectified by turning off the DC Dimming feature within the OnePlus 8 Pro. However, according to the same post, this actually causes an issue with black crush, which is where dark areas on the screen lose detail. Depending on the preference of the user, the black crush problem could be more intrusive to their device usage than the green tinting.
OnePlus reached out to the person suffering from the issue and said that the company is investigating it, though they haven’t heard back with a resolution to the problem as of this writing. Additionally, OnePlus told Android Police that it’s investigating the issue and will “issue updates as soon as they are ready.”

OnePlus has announced the India pricing of its OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro limited edition ‘Popup Boxes’ that come with bundled cases and the Bullets Wireless Z earphones in black. The company is not holding any popup event this year because of the pandemic, but the Popup Boxes will go on sale around the world sooner rather than later. Both the OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8 Pop-up boxes are now listed on the OnePlus India site.
Pricing in India starts at Rs. 45,999 for the OnePlus 8 Popup Box, which includes the 8GB + 128GB model in Onyx Black or Glacial Green colors alongside the Bullets Wireless Z, a Cyan Bumper Case and a Nylon Bumper Case. As for the OnePlus 8 Pro Pop-up Box, it has been priced at Rs. 60,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model in Onyx Black or Glacial Green colors alongside the Bullets Wireless Z, a Cyan Bumper Case and a Karbon Bumper Case.
OnePlus launched its latest smartphones in an online event earlier this month. While they share a very similar spec-sheet, there are some significant differences between the two, with the Pro model sporting a number of ‘firsts’ for OnePlus devices, including an IP rating that denote dust- and water-proofing, wireless charging and more. The OnePlus 8 Pro also comes with a quad-cam setup as opposed to the triple-camera module in the standard model. Pricing in India starts at Rs. 41,999 for the OnePlus 8, while the 8 Pro has been priced starting at Rs. 59,999.
