Quite a few years ago, West Bengal was blessed with a narrow gauge railway network at Katwa Jn. Two Narrow Gauge lines diverged from Katwa - one went to Ahamadpur via Labpur, and the other one went to Burdwan (later curtailed upto Balgona due to gauge conversion).. Raunak Banerjee, Avisekh Ray, Soumya Sen and yours truly (along with our dear Bisu da) had a memorable narrow gauge ride on a railbus (engine manufactured by Ashok Leyland company) from Balgona to Katwa and back..
